Aboriginal savanna burning in Arnhem Land: Regulation, uncertainty, postcolonial possibility
This webinar focuses on the operations of Arnhem Land Fire Abatement (NT) Limited, a carbon farming project operating over 80,000 sq kms of Arnhem Land. Jon will outline some of the institutional, environmental, cultural and economic challenges and barriers, the regulatory uncertainty, that make this exemplary project unnecessarily precarious. The webinar will conclude by making some broad observations about postcolonial possibility and Indigenous savanna burning in north Australia.
